Mmmmmm. Yes.... Them! Well needs must.

It's not a press fit job is it? As it looks like a full blown rubber metal bonded part that bolts together with the rest of the mount. Sorry, showing my XM engine mount ignorance here.

Parts diag shows a complete steel/rubber U-shaped item, ready to bolt on.
Do double-check the part numbers, someone, please.

It will be expensive from a Citroen dealer. Why not try getting the rubber remade, either at a local bonding company, or Kingas in Lithuania. (Elastomer.eu)

I would be happy to use a Gates thermostat.

If you whack the thermostat and other bits on today, you could have that thing all finished by end of tomorrow...

The less we use Citroen, the quicker some of these parts will be knocked on the head.
As with any business, it's all about turnover.
It's only a bush and thermostat for heaven's sake, not a king's ransome.
Seems unnecessary to start negotiations with a remanufacturing company when the part looks available round the corner!
_____

It would also be possible, if you wanted to, to renew the 'rubber' filling of the bush by simply removing any really loose rubber, and then filling the cavity with some of this:
http://www.carbonmods.co.uk/Products/bl ... alant.aspx
Loctite 3370 Black looks similar (also a Henkel product).
Lots of different makes on the market, but don't use PU foam adhesive....you need the 'solid' rubbery stuff. Windscreens are put in with this kind of adhesive. Elasticity may not be exactly as original, but for this item, it is easily monitored. Would not recommend such for strut-tops!

I've successfully 'rebushed' a diff mount - full adhesive infill round the sheared rubber - using similar stuff (Henkel/Sista/Pattex PU298 Solyplast, black polyurethane construction adhesive) but this brand seems not be known outside Spain.

Such stuff comes in a standard cartridge. Squirt in, without leaving voids, and smooth off with a palette knife. Allow to air-cure for several days, until it feels firm and elastic. Cures from the outside, at the rate of 2-3mm thickness per 24hrs. Trimmable with sharp knife (or scalpel in your case!).

Citroen dealers... What is the point?!!!?!

Popped down to Warners, our local Citroen dealer this morning. Nice chap checked the parts numbers. I even took the mount with me, incase they have never seen a proper car part before!!!! Oooooo scathing!
Yep can get the top mount bush wot sit for £34, need to order it. So trying my luck even more, what about the thermostat and gaskets? Oh yes, we can do the gaskets, but you'll need to buy five .....at £5 each. Can't get a thermostat. Well not too fussed about that. Thank you kindly.... I'll decline those parts then.

So of he went to check with the factory about the mount bush. Comes back, sorry they don't make it anymore. Non available.
Typical! still it was worth a try. ;) not totally unexpected to be honest.

The hunt continues......
