Rusted xm subframe

Post by XM IR »

Last mot stated subframe was corroded but not structurally weakened. Can the subframe be welded? Some garages say yes, others no!

Its a bit of a grey area, I beleve IF IM still correct it can be welded IF an MOT tester has not seen its weak condition before hand, but once spotted and seen to be weak by a tester it cant be.

It won't need welding if you sort it quickly, mot testers have been issuing advisories for rust marks rather than rust holes, have a look underneath and check to see exactly what the issue is.
