Its get MY ARSE in gear time! Despite 5 XMs, 3 of them DERV, and one auto, I aint got one on the road!

Must do something about it!

Vince! A word of advice.. despite getting the original undertray, I strongly recommend you leave it OFF the car long term, prehaps only fit it for shows.. the reason.. I beleve they hold and trap water and damp onto the underside of the subframe, this then encouraging RUST and Rot in the subframes.. these can rot as badly as car bodys...

Your choice though, but personally, they get removed. Even my HDi xantia hasn't got it fitted..

Simon was scrapping the car because he couldn't find out what the rattle was at the front, a rust section at the rear which my MOT man welded up, the rattle, which vince found out to be brake pads.. also as the car needed the clutch dooing. I was not prepared for its condition even when I picked it up! Vince has advanced the condition even further.

It was after getting it home and finding virtually new strut tops on her, despite me wanting S1 spares I decided it really was too good to break. Knew it was a good car! ;)

You're right Paul, you must! Not having an XM on the road is not good at all. I'll come up and see you and shout encouragement at you

I quite agree about the undershield.. Find a use for it but not on an XM. I reckon it'll make a good toboggan 8-)

Glad you did Paul. As we know now, it has such an interesting history and what Vince has done to it. It was certainly a good idea to keep it on the road.

I'm confident that is painted. Even brand new they weren't that bright.
