Are you sure that's the way forward to clear space just to
save some of my old s1's!?
ah andrew this one is Not at the farm so is not actually taking up vacant spaces...when the xantia v6 goes end of august then we have space for two as long as i hold strong and ignore any good xantia purchases...

V6 or Diesel! Jings, you might as well consider the TCT if you would accept a diesel!
I personally think you are being too precise in what you want. I believe that the best thing to do is buy on condition, and if you are lucky, you might get the engine, colour or trim you want.
My keeper series 1 car is white, not my favourite colour, but I can live with it for the rest of the cars condition and rarity.
Yu be Very lucky to get either of those engines in manual... ive got one 2.1 td manual base spec car but its a project.. needs a few bits but its manual...
ive just sold a K reg 2.1 td base manual car too... As mentioned ive also a v6 project but that auto...

Budget? Yes. Its sort of flexible up to a grand or so.
My reasoning behind the V6 or Diesel is this:
I can live with the economy of the V6 because its just that, a V6. The TCT is too juicy for what it is, and the 16v does nothing for me. A diesel fits with the type of car the XM is in my opinion, and if I can't get the V6 I'd rather have something a bit more frugal to run daily.
