Hi all
Well my XM 24v series 2 has gone. With a tear in my eye it went, off north of the border to the ex-owners of Matthews s1 24v!
Mark and Jacqui made the 425miles from Surrey to near Edinburgh in 6hrs! Without a single stop too. What a great way to start with another XM, a testiment to how comfy they are.
Also great to see it go to some real enthusiasts.

Re: 24v series 2 gone to great new home!
Hi all,
Firstly i would like to thank Tony and Debbie for there hospitality and picking
us up from the airport.
I know this is hard to believe put i have never owned or driven a series 2 24v before, although i have owned a 98 V6 Xantia in the past.
The car drove absolutely faultlessly even at prolonged motorway speeds and giving a
smooth power delivery for overtaking.
The only way i was able to drive for such a long period of time was because of the ride
and comfort these cars give,as we all know.
For those of you out there that like numbers here are the stats:-
From start to finish 443 miles,5 Hours 50 Mins,No stops
When i filled up the car with fuel i was being a bit over zealous and managed to
squeeze in 63 litres.
The mileage was at 447.5 miles which averages just a little over 32mpg,which is phenomenal
given the circumstances which only the 2.1td will beat.(in my experience)
It was one of the best journeys i have undertaken with no hold ups or roadworks
on the motorways.
In conclusion the car is a real testiment to Tony and Debbie. It has certainly changed my
opinion of series 2 cars.
Mark and Jacqui.
