hmmmm I can see the dilemma.
Now I loved my xantia's, it's just a very good car. That's why every year, I decided not to swop it for another car. Up until 10 years...
But the XM, is different. It's a joy to drive in that 2.1 td if you're not in a hurry :) I love it

Nick, if the car is in that good condition then it's a no-brainer really...

And as you say, already Bosch'd.

Not that the EPIC is not a great pump though. the only issue is that it likes only good clean diesel and gets very sick on anything else.

Wellll...

Ebay is a dangerous thing.

I did intend on bidding on a Xantia, then i spotted a 2004 Laguna 1.9DCi 120 going very cheap.

And i mean, got it taxed and tested drove it home for £545 cheap.

My bad

That is a cheap car indeed. The Laguna II is a nice car, with only one failing...the turbo, which was upgraded at some point, so may already be the later one.

Hi Nick, thats certainly some car list you have there!

2001 Renault Laguna II 1.9DCI
Swiftly followed by the second least reliable car? They are not bad when they work and the LagII is a nice car, I do question the 1.9DCi though, its definitely not going to beat a good PSA diesel for reliability. Your new purchase does look very tidy though and thats very cheap!

Depends how late it is, if its had a replacment blower, and if the oil service has been reduced by an owner in the Know...

Well, the last Laguna i had didnt let me down at any point but i only owned it for about 6 months.

The service interval set by renault on there is stupid, its 24,000 or 2 years?!

No way in my right mind i would leave it that long.

Couldnt say if its got a good turbo or not to be honest, it work at the moment though, its a GT1749v, same as you get on the PD140 vw engines i believe.

One problem i do have at the moment is that there is a bit of vibration at speed, but since noticed that the side wall has gone a bit funky on the N/S/F, doh, looks like new tyre time.
