Sounds really nice! I recently had a discussion about mixer taps and electric showers with an electrical engineer. It's still a draw but I have a mixer tap AND an electric shower unit, in my only ONE shower, but big enough for two!!

I would stick with mixer showers, but install ones that accept 22mm feeds and work off 1m head, instead of most which are 15mm feed and need 2m head.
If you are going to get through a fair bit of hot water, solar makes sense.

It's slap bang in a conservation area although there is no shortage of roof space to fit solar panels. However it has calor gas heating so I'd prefer leccie showers.

Normally you can fit solar panels onto the rear roof in a conservation area.
You can do anyway but need PP, which has recently been relaxed to aid the cowboy industry.
