I think the moderators should at least see it. But perfectly happy for Paul and or John to approve it.

Re: Practical Classics photoshoot - XM required
I've sent an email offering the Mandarin car for this, so lets see what pans out.
I doubt an article will go into such depth as different strut tops and other slight technical changes, but is likely to cover different series, models and engine versions.
We all know a 2.1TD MANUAL with Romana velour is best...

Autos are noisy and sluggish...and break. There were no auto 2.1td in 1990.

Who's Shirley?
I think you will find the 12v V6 is the best all round package.............hang on, I've done this wrong havnt I!
I think Mr Dieselman should do this again, it is the mark 1 that many doe eyed ex owners look back on, its got the definitive wheels and interior which was very sought after in early vehicles, plus its very clean.
OK it's got that crappy manual box but you can't have it all as they say

All this is doing us no favours. Big picture. Keep it simple. Wait and see what the draft copy says first, and then it can be checked for errors. Would rather think this was better sorted by PM, gents.

Re: Practical Classics photoshoot - XM required
I think the offer from Dieselman is ideal if he has the time and inclination.
Shoot location is fairly handy to him.
Will has a fairly unique experience of Mk 1 XM's.
He has used one from new as a working car then after a gap with other cars come back to XM's as near classics.
Taken on well used cars and put much work in to bring them up to a high standard.
I think that aligns very well with the magazine readers who might just be tempted to start looking for an XM.
This is all about giving XM's a bit of publicity and hopefully nudging nearer to classic status with an increase in value.
Getting the text perfectly right is not critical in my view and I see no need for us to proof read it.
Ideally we would just like their permission to post it on here at a reasonable time after the issue has sold out.
Anyone who buys in to an XM will most likely end up using this website, so we can sort them out then and sell them spares.
The much higher French XM prices are worth a mention as is that some of us import from Europe to get the right model or spare parts.

I'm easy, whoever gets the chance to have their car in print. I have offered my car as I believe it fits the brief.White Exec wrote:All this is doing us no favours. Big picture. Keep it simple.
