Green 1993 XM on Ebay

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Depending on closing price, it's coming to about the same or more than the 17k 2lt listed for £995 with new mot and some tax. Green one is nicer spec of course. But then u'd also need plenty more to make it look presentable (dents, laquer). Hmmmm...

Yeah but the green ones a DIESEL unlike the older 17K one which is petrol :!:

Problem is, what do I do if it breaks down on me on the way to Scotland -very probable for a car that has sat 5 years-. Probably buy AA relay on the spot? But will they still do it without MOT?

cheers
George
Hi Jogy,
You could take out AA national rescue on another car, then head up the road in the questionable one, and if it breaks down call the AA. They didn't ask me for any details of the car when they hauled me down to Dundrennan!

I look at the value/costs a little differently. Firstly I dont have to worry about labour cost because I do the work myself. A set of spheres from GSF less than £150.00, oil, filters belts around £50.00, strut secondhand I also have in stock, secondhand tyres as well. All these costs are likely to be incurred however much you pay for a car.

Even if you were to spend £995.00 on it, what else could you buy for that money with the space, comfort, reliability (compared with modern cars) and a potential 50 mpg?

I rest my case. 8-)

Steve.
I agree Steve,
As E-Bay allows you to load up 12 Photos of a car or motorbike for sale with out any extra costs to the listing fees :!:
But I have just noticed that the seller has added four new photo shots, two of the n/side of the car (one showing the damage to the sill towards the rear of the car), another showing the extent of the damage to the bonnet and one of the interior(front only) :D

To much money for me, although I still dont think that was a bad price for the condition and mileage, only the price of a banger but with a little fettling one of the best cars in the world ;)

Well done George I'm really pleased for you ! :D
(BTW, I take you threw the towel in on 'Brett' petrol one from Stratford-On-Avon ?
if so we may see that one re-surface on Auto-Trader or E-Bay again  )

Once again congratulations on securing this one, I'm sure you've chosen the best one of the two IMHO plus it's a Diesel 8-)

Yes, congratulations George, I'm sure you wont be dissapointed, I take it you had a good look at it first (Homes under the hammer) :D Don't sue me if its a heap - it was only an opinion  Hope you get it home OK, I can't see any reason why it should give any trouble, I drove my black hatch home from London with no clutch!. I'm certain you will be delighted with the interior, that alone would be worth the money.

Keep us posted
