Obviously the issue with your headgasket will have put a huge damper on the experience, but I thought the event was okay, albeit not a huge number in attendance, but some good quality cars and commerardarie amongst owners nevertheless. I hope to put up a separate post, while the Rally SM and Chapron DS were particular highlights for me. Although I did see you trundling out on the breakdown truck I am sorry not to have said a proper farewell, although it was good you made it back okay. It will be interesting to hear what is decided with the engine to rebuild or replace and it must be ready for the Chevrons in September!! With regards, Matthew T.
Matthew, I'm so sorry I didn't get to say goodbye, the chap arrived and we got the car on, and had to leave pronto.
I got home in sensible time at least. Had to go past his garage to block the car up to stop the chassis grounding out. But once done it was fine and got it home safely.
Willow brook IS jinxed for me. I won't return in a hurry!

but Sunday was the better day, and although it wasn't a great rally really, there was some fun to be had driving the cactuss, DS5 and Leo's C6! And of course catching up with everyone.
I very much doubt it will be done for the chevrons. The garage is in a right state, so needs clearing again. It might be a while yet till it's done. It's very much looking like an engine swap. Although I kind of want to know a price just to have the gasket done as a comparison. The quick and expensive option.
So I will be in a certain C5 for future rallies. Suddenly realising why so many of you have multiple cars!
