I got my grommets from the boot of a pug 106. Like new too. All for 50p at my local scrappy. :D

Wow, you're venturing into re spraying territory Vince. That must be very interesting learning how you really are meant to do it. Jealous!! 8-) although according to the guy who restored a yellow Dyane in the recent Practical Classics, used diving equipment and a £12 spray gun from lidl. Makes you think....

New headlamp inners, the front chrome trims inside the glass have both been removed by a previous owner as he thought it looked better  Needless to say it wasnt Paul
Be aware that the headlamp leading trims fit in different ways on very early and slightly later lamp units.

I'll be following that with interest Vince!. Where does that oil level sensor live? I know I could probably use the search function but since I've just spent the whole weekend driving 3 happy English on the back seat of my XM without any break downs....I feel lazy now :)

You haven't got an oil pressure warning light, have you?

It is not coming on with the ignition turned on! :) So I suspect an oily or loose or whatever connection to the pressure switch but I don't want to foul Vince's topic! I find those level sensors aren't accurate but mine is still working.

Thanks Paul...as i said at Cosford i need to come over to yours shortly and pick up a few bits.....

New headlamp inners and also possible a set of new rear lamps complete?

The oil level sensor is apparently fitted near the sump join on the transmission end....Come to think of it im sure i saw it one time when i was ferreting around underneath the engine....axle stands job to change it though.....

By all means guys follow me on the route to a respray..it wont be until the new year though ;)

I did a Mercedes eclass today for a customer at my mates garage....he used to be a professional paint sprayer some years back and has asked if he can help me paint it when it gets done.... :D Of course was my reply....after all, ill do a bit yes but you cant beat an ex pro painter ;) I told him i want to go for a superb finish in its factory platinum colour....I want a deep gloss to it though so weve decided it will need circa 5 coats of clear on it then flatted back...ill then machine it back up again to like new 8-)

Cant wait :)
