I am sorry Graeme but I have just checked my stock and I only have PRV V6 engine ecu, plus a large number of suspension and abs ecu of various types. Hopefully someone else on the Forum will be able to help. With regards, Matthew T.

That's OK Matthew, I'll search for one anyway now I have the serial number.

Updates: I decided to revamp the front wing monogrammes as they were worn.

They both removed very easily
Image

I used silver modelling paint to apply 2 layers and then tidy up the edges with a craft knife

Image

Then it gets exciting! I used 2-part clear resin to coat the surface and give it a shny clear finish - not original of course but I think it looks quite good

Next up, I removed the off side front wing to repair the dents
Image

Image

Also removed the scuttle to have a look and adjust the wipers as they park too high but couldn't see the 'cam' someone mentioned for adjustment.
Image

I did spot a bit of the linkage that's been rubbing on one of the pipes from the brake doseur valve..... adjusted. But how long has it been doing this??
Image

Lower part of the wing is a rust trap - 22 years of grot here and the beginnings of rust..
Image

Best I could do for the wing - it's a lot better but never be new. I really need a new wing.
Image

In the end I cleaned and undersealed the rust trap part of the wing so hope it'll stay rust free!

Great stuff Graeme. I did my old SED badges on the grey XM with a great technique that I discovered was much easier than trying to hand paint them with a wobbly hand. I had some high density foam, neoprene really, and stuck that to some thick card. Put a handle on it and then painted silver chrome modelling paint on to the foam. Took the excess off, I then pressed the whole thing against the badge. Paint transferred to the reflect of the letters with minimal cleaning up and with a good flat finish. I will be doing the same to my mandarin one soon. Sorry it's a bit too late for you now!!! but they look great and worth while doing.

My windscreen wipers on the mandarin XM do just the same as yours. I adjusted them yesterday to how I feel they should sit at rest. Only to switch them on and they went back to where they originally were! So something needs tweaking somewhere.

Hope you oiled the Doseur valve linkage pivot. If that seizes like it did on my grey XM, it can force the brakes on, or at least cause significant binding.

That's a good tip for the emblem painting, Russ.

Excellent work Graeme. I fitted the mudflaps that I'd totally forgotten I'd bought, a couple of days ago. I removed the wheel arch liner and lo and behold, several kgs of mud and detritus. Cleared it all out and sprayed the whole area with WD-40. Thankfully no signs of corrosion.

That's a brilliant method Russ! Wish I'd thought of it. The clear coating might not be to everyone's taste but I quite like the result.

I certainy did oil the pivot of the linkage to the brake doseur - I'd heard the stories before about it sticking and holding on the brakes. I also oiled the wiper linkage but probably didn't need it.

It's amazing how much grot gets stuck in XM wheel arches! Most of it on this car is sand! maybe iot was used as a dune buggy

Although the badges on the XM are relatively good the badges on the Xantia are poor.

My question is can the 2.0HDi badge on the door trim be removed without taking the whole of the door trim off?

I thought the xantia badges were fitted in the black side moulding - I'm sure they come out but maybe the side moulding has to come off first (?)

That's my problem, Graeme. If the 2.0HDi badge is fixed to the door trim I'll paint them up on the car without removing them.
