Re: CitroJim's Citroens
Exactly the case with mine, I checked all 4 again last night. NOne are cracked and look to be in good nick, even the one that broke while raising her up. Maybe, they are not the original ones anymore. Nevertheless I'll replace them a.s.a.p.

Re: CitroJim's Citroens
I'm sure they won't be cracked like mine were Jaap, but mine did look okay on the car, until I took it off and bent it the other way to which it was on the car, and it was seriously cracked and split along the whole pipe. But I don't know if it was the original leak off pipe.....If it was, that means it was 21 years old.

Re: CitroJim's Citroens
It probably was original, the genuine Citroen rubber parts do last well.

Re: CitroJim's Citroens
Well, it couldn't last
I wondered how long the Activa would last before throwing toys again and yesterday I found out...
The ignition switch is a little dodgy and is causing the blower to cut out; noticed it doing it yesterday wit the aircon on and blower working hard. Just wiggle the key in the switch and it all resolves for a while.
I need to do the blower relay mod...
Ahh well, I have a day off today waiting in for the consignment of Strut Tops to be delivered from Lithuania so I'll have something useful to do whilst I wait

What's the trick of loosening the strut tops from the strut? I did two on dismantled ones the other day but one was really hard to take off, the other very easy.

Re: CitroJim's Citroens
Loosen nut until it is level with the top of the thread.
Hold a thin piece of wood on top the nut and strike hard with a hammer.
Rod will drop a mm or two, enough to release the seal the two "O" rings in the strut head make on the rod top taper.
Check both the "O" rings are present and good in the easy one.

Re: CitroJim's Citroens
The secret that John did not divulge Jaap, is to use a big hammer. I use a 4lb club hammer.
The other trick as John says is to strike hard
I had my hair trimmed today and then got a quick picture of me in my karate uniform...
This really is me

Grading tomorrow and I hope the next picture taken will be of me with a different colour belt...
