Finally got the Activa clean after its visit to the paintshop. Initially I couldn't use the car as it stank of paint internally and it was seriously aggravating my solvent intolerance so I abandoned the car for a couple of weeks so it could disperse.

It still hadn't yesterday morning

The interior was full of dust and it took me hours to clean the interior back to my standards. also washed the outside and had a good look at the job done. It's not bad for what I paid, but is the wrong colour compared to the original faded panels!

Needs a good polish now...

Still, much better than peeling paintwork.

Today is our first public karate demonstration this year at a big fête in the grounds of a stately home... Been practising this for weeks now and pleased to see the weather will be on our side as we're performing on grass. I can't see our pure white gis (uniforms) staying pure white for long though. I reckon they'll be more green and mud by the end oft he afternoon...

Tips on removing grass stains from white cotton will be very much appreciated!

I'm on holiday for the next two weeks. Tomorrow Chris570 and I journey to the isle of Anglesey to see a well-known Citroenist :-D Really looking forward to that.

Then it's serious spannering on all cars to make them good for the coming season... The reason for taking the holiday :)

Say hello to Paul when you see him....once im back on the road in the xm im planning a trip over myself....wish I had the money right now...I could do with a nice drive to Anglesey.

Have a great holiday and a safe trip :)

Excellent Jim sounds like fun. Have a good break!

Maybe the Activa might need a good mop and polish to bring the old paint back to new. This is exactly the trouble I had matching my paint, the new is much greyer and darker.
To get rid of odours, try sprinkling on e carpets or putting in a tub of baking soda somewhere to absorb the smells. Might look like drugs mind, but you know..... If it helps!

I took the Activa to karate training this morning and thankfully the odours have disappeared largely so it seems my mammoth interior clean did the trick. I also fed the seats so it has a nice vaguely leathery smell about it now.

I reckon you're right that the whole paintwork needs a good seeing-to Russ...

I need you on it Vince! I can do a good interior and do things with spanners but I'm rubbish at making the outside look good...

Could do a swap there Vince and Jim as one car needs spanners and another needs detailing...

Now there's a good thought :D Quite happy to see what we can do to further that idea!

The karate went well this afternoon. my gi has only a few grass-stains on it and no blood!

We did it in the Italian Garden at Castle Ashby

An absolutely gorgeous place and a lovely afternoon spent. I took the Activa and enjoyed a bit of an extended route back because I was enjoying the car so much despite the humming wheel bearing...
