That could be very handy indeed Matthew. May I let you know once I hear from chevronics if a BX one will fit. Ideally I might as well fit a new one if poss, but if that is a total failure, which it most likely will be, I'll have your arm off for one of yours!!

Just let your know I do have the part Russ that is in good nick and even separated from the rack! I would have thought the BX coupling etc. might be smaller being for a lighter car. With regards, Matthew T.

That's fantastic Matthew, can I let you know once I have an answer to the BX coupling, just incase. I think you are most likely right, but apparently the BX coupling was used on large Peugeots like the 505. However, being Citroen, it is most likely a different part to the XM. I should know on Monday, if it's a no go, I would love to have your part please.

Haha, that's the one I am enquiring about. Apparently the chap who knows, most probably Rob him self, is not about until next Monday, so I hopefully should know next week. Also there is another supply of them for a lot less. Malcolm Lockwood thinks it might fit, but isn't too sure. Andrew Weston said it looks like a BX coupling, but again, it only needs to be a few MM out and it won't fit.

Problem is the parts numbers are already not matching, so it looks doubtful already, but I do have the XM coupling measurements, so if Chevronics could measure the BX one, we might know for sure.

Yes, I found his thread and his fix, seemed to work for him, also useful to see the coupling and how it all works. I don't think I will do what he did though... I personally would prefer to fit a proper coupling. I kind of wonder if a polyurethane one can be made up, or would it would be too solid and transmit more vibration than the rubber one.

Whilst poking about looking at this fuel leak this afternoon, you can see the coupling form behind the engine, and mine is split just like Lez's.

The seal for the fuel pump arrived today. All £2.47 of it! So now it's a case of getting it fitted. With the impending doom and hit on my wallet, I completed a nice but small job this afternoon. I finally fitted the automatic gearstick handle Jaap kindly gave me. My original handle was cracking and on the way to peeling off. Now it's much smarter. Probably could do with a new gaiter however. That's looking a bit sad, and grey for some reason!

leather can be painted Russ, sorry to read about your troubles. Don't understand how that coupling can perish unless it's all bathed in diesel and oil?
