Ah well, the best laid plans of mice and men.. My friends at Classic Car Project shop brought home my Cosworth and my Golf as they need the space while some work is done. These are now sitting comfortably in the newly cleaned and tidied garage. So opening the doors of the diesel XM to take them home in jumps Bramble, the CCPS cocker spaniel, and she of course has very muddy paws, so the car interior is now back to stage 2! I'll let it dry and brush it out. I'll forgive her anything as she is immensely sweet.

They thought the ride was superb and were also pleasantly surprised by the performance. I'd taken it to them for waxoyling when it was still filthy, so they did scratch their heads a little then. Bramble particularly approved of the upholstery which suited her colours well and the fresh air ventilation from the centre vents.

Fantastic...xm's appeal to both humans and animals alike....

Charles, the 500e...now that is a very special car indeed ;) Always been an admirer of the wolf in sheep's clothing Mercedes. The 450 sel also comes to a mouth-watering mind :P

I took my black XM (it is somewhat grander) to pick up the soloist tenor for the Slough Philharmonic Society's Christmas concert of the Creation. As I drove him home for a pre-concert bite he remarked unbidden that it was the most comfortable car he'd been in, the ride in particular being fantastic. Nice chap!

Not having the greatest luck at the mo. A car overtaking a parked car on a lane just barged me out of the way, clipping my o/s wing mirror. The plastic casing is fine, the glass however shattered across all the outer half. In the dark on the motorway it looked like there were 12 cars in 8 different lanes behind me.
