A diesel XM is 1660 euro's per year or 415 per month. LPG XM is 1304 euro's per year. Petrol 908 euro's per year. Holland is the most expensive in the EU for driving cars.

The cost I hate to think about but it would address the one minor downside of that era Citroens, namely the bodyroll. I happen to like that bit of it, it keeps my inputs under control, which is a much better way of driving. Of course, on a long drive at speed, the Diravi showed exactly what I am missing on the XM, namely beautifully weighted steering with a lovely small wheel. Surprisingly everything worked, although the glovebox decided to blow open (the tiny bit of plastic fitting into the lock sheared off), the interior mirror fell off (glue and duct tape sorted that) and the driver's side mirror needed some viagra. Who needs mirrors anyway!?

I believe the owner is a pilot, and spent £25-30 grand having it converted. Talk about making an SM even more of a nightmare!
I dont mind bodyroll as such, and as you say Charles its part of the character of the car. Part of having a proper Citroen. :D

Is there a modern interpretation of Diravi out there being used by someone else? If not there should be.

:o I'll never complain about our road tax prices again!! That is staggering, and how unfair to effect businesses and peoples right to own an older more enjoyable car. Knowing Dutch XM's are well looked after, might this be the UK's new source of LHD cars!!! :) Theres an import buisness there. LHD CX and XM's

Volvo have been working on something similar for their trucks.

It is very similar. How interesting. ;)

So we have Volvo 'reinventing' Diravi and Toyota 'reinventing' hydractive suspension. Talk about squandering your technical history Citroen!

Back to Citroens. The SM hotel - the grey one is Nard's, the gold (a Nissan colour used for a terrible respray of the car below) has just been fitted eith the kit mine shall have and the blue one (a UK one needing a lot of work) which has the very rare resin wheels. I'll stick to standard!

NEVER MIND SM pictures here, what about some NEW Pics of your XM now you have done some coach work Charles??

Prehaps an SM topic should be started else where, as the placement of the last few will soon be lost and forgotton where it is...

Good point Paul. As long as people don't mind a SM thread on an XM board, but this is home for me.

I'll be cleaning the XM properly tomorrow. A few other things on my mind this week!

SM Rues Resine are very light at 5Kg each, especially to say they are fibreglass, not carbon fibre.
