Thanks for the support guys .....im looking forward to discovering it again once its back on the road....it will be like getting a new toy again.

The Nissan as ive said before is actually quite a nice car to move around in....all the bells and whistles, but what it isn't..is a quirky piece of gallic charm

Will, Linda's work is picking up a bit .....my car work however isn't, but that's because most of my mental time is absorbed by my full time job....I have a great plan to rustle up some quick work ready for winter though , but I need to get on with making it happen

Im going to take the battery out soon as its dead...but Im nervous that with the bonnet closed and no power, if I cant get the doors to open on the key I wont be able to open the bonnet again to refit it....

Best try the key ASAP then Vince and not do any dead locking on it otherwise you could end up crawling thru the boot and trying to use the bonnet release with the door closed

Just make sure the doors open first, then.

TIP VINCE!

Remove the CENTRE Slat out of the nose cone... Then if you look in there you can see the Bonnet Lock Rod... You could then with a long nose reach pliers or simmiler, or even a long screw driver at one end pop the bonnet rod and open the bonnet Key Less!!

You can then lock the car up, and not worry about a door lock. However, I was under the impression the door locks did work...

I have locked my car without battery power. It was fine. But obviosuly the central locking won't work, so you just need to lock the doors with the stoppers.

Yes, BUT if the door locks dont work in the doors, and no bettery, shut locked doors, how do you get in again... you need to pop the bonnet first to put a battery on.. above is how to do it..

Ahhhh. Yes I see your point. But mine seemed to lock and unlock without power no probs. it was locking the doors in the correct order as only one door will lock and unlock.

Mind you my car is a mystery at times!

Well Yes, a door LOCK is mechanical with an electric assitants.. so they will lock without power, subject to the door barrell working..

I've locked and unlocked mine quite a few times with no battery on and never had a problem . . .

. . . there again mine doesn't have all that fancy dan plipper stuff and alarm gizmo.
