Good pics Franklin. Like Roberts C5's orange glow inside. Looks very cosy!

Neil, with regard to the convoy I stated clearly in the route guide it was a drive to the destination and therefore would be along fast A roads as the destination was the attraction and not the drive. If the general consensus is that we want a heavily scenic run through the badlands of North Bucks and actually meet the witches the signs warn of in those parts than so be it. I'm happy to do whatever is wanted.

As for speed, I was the convoy lead and nowhere did I exceed 40mph ( and in an S2 Xantia that's less than 35mph in reality!!!). I know from doing this job often in the past that the rest of the convoy has to go like hell if the lead cars are going too fast. It was not a race and I was delighted to see we had no losses and all arrived more or less as a convoy. It was not a race and I was sorely pee'ing off some non-convoy people at several points by going so slowly to allow the back-markers plenty of opportunity to keep convoy.

Chinnor I loved. That was one rare case where the expectation was massively exceeded. Even we organisers did not know about the Yard Tour, Signal Box tour or the Class 37. I also know it made one profoundly handicapped individual very happy indeed. The C&PRR did us real proud and remember they opened up especially for us.

The pub evening snack was a complete disgrace. Overpriced and rubbish even for a buffet. I want my money back.

Derek did a brilliant job in the kitchen.

Overall this years' rally was great. Old friends seen again, new ones made and great fun had.

The weather was a bit of a devil but it had the decency to wait until Monday to really do what it wanted and soak us.

I said to Paul yesterday that for me it was worth totally writing off Monday (and most of Tuesday more than likely) for the enjoyment of the rally because I did really enjoy it.

Franklin, yes I do wish my Activa was a V6! - see my signature ;)
