my citroen
Hi,
I am the proud owner of the late Dr. Alex Moulton’s 1998 Citroen XM V6 Exclusive which I purchased in 2010 when it had done 70,000 miles (some 85,000 now). Its a beautiful car (see http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/news/al ... -for-sale/). When I met him at his house, with three Mini's parked outside and a Rolls in the garage, he said it was his favourite car, with a suspension far superior than the Rolls. He was selling as was getting a bit elderly. A very lovely man who wanted it to go to a good home, and knowing I had had numerous Citroens before (DSs, 2CVs, CXs, XMs), generously reduced the price.
All is well, barring both cables snapping virtually at the same time a couple of months ago, and will shortly have time to fix them. Purchased the cables from e-crofting, but I know it will be a fiddly business. Any suggestions?

Hi Peter, just take the time for it, don't rush it or you may get confused. It's important to recheck the exact length of the cable for which you need the old snapped cable.
Second cable will go a lot faster than the first. Remember that the door panels are hanging in clips so you have to move the panels upwards to take them off properly.
Must be a fabulous car you have! Good luck with it!

Re: my citroen
Hi Peter, welcome to the forum. I was wondering who snapped up this car. From memory it has cream leather. Lovely!
I have a small article in a Autocar mag, when Steve Cropley took their new C6 to compare with Alex's XM. I believe the outcome was the XM had the better ride.
You have to look after this one...famous previous owner ect! Best of luck with it... Sounds like it is in safe hands.

Russ, could you scan that and post it sometime, when you aren't busy? I'd love to read that!russ92xmsed wrote: I have a small article in a Autocar mag, when Steve Cropley took their new C6 to compare with Alex's XM. I believe the outcome was the XM had the better ride.
