Well that has definitely benefitted from a filter clean and bleed. Steering is lovely now. Wasn't bad before, but feels great now. Ride feels a tad softer too.

I think I DID say, tighten the regulator up WHILE the engine is still running....

No, been there too. In my case just de pressurising did the trick, also with mirror and pen light. Quite alarming if it happens the first time but Haynes does mention the procedure I believe.

Yep I think so Jaap. The LHM is still nice and bright green and I see we have similar bleed screw methods!!!
I am sure you did say tighten the screw up with engine running Paul, but I wasn't sure it had worked, as I have no experience with how it all behaves when doing something like that. So tightened it up and turned the car on just to see, with not much hope, thinking i might have to do it all again .....and it worked.
I will certainly tighten it up with the engine running next time.

Hi Guys, this isn't XM related...it is C5 related. But I would be very interested in your opinions on this for those who know....
The C5 a 53 reg 2.2 HDI with about 67K on the clock, is having its cambelt done at Gloucester Warners Citroen Dealers for a good price. £295 i think. The car isn't mine by the way!
But for some reason they say that they dont change the water pump. They inspect it and change if necessary, but wont do it other wise. Do you think this is a good idea. I always thought new belt puts more pressure on the pump, with greater risk of it going and all having to be re done.
Be very interested in your thoughts.

INSIST! A visual is not enough. And its very likely to fail son after the belt is tensioned..
For the price of a pump, what, 30 quid, while the belt is off its worth dooing.. so, insist it IS done!
They probably cannot be bothered with a drain an refill on the cooling system. I take the opportinity to let the cooling water go, and put fresh new anti freeze and water in..
