Halfords are pretty good at mixing paint into a spray can!

I find paints4u to be good colourwise and cheaper than Halfords, but the nozzles are too small for large area painting.

Thanks guys. I might try your suggestion then Will. I don't mind smaller nozzles, a rear bumper isn't like a bonnet say. So more control.

Forgot about halfords. To be honest our local one has been refitted into their new style, and it is crap. Not even sure they do paint mixing.
The Gloucester one is much better, so might need to go there if needs be.

As promised, here are some pics of my lacquer work and dodgy patch on the rear passenger door.








The very top of the wing was cracked and starting to flake. it really was looking a mess. It was much like the door, but ran most of the length of the wing. So I sanded it back and re lacquered it on Monday. I left it alone sitting in the sun since to let it cure. Got some halfords rubbing compound yesterday along with some 1200 and 1500 wet and dry. So today, I sanded back the overspray and got rid of some scratches ect and then used the rubbing compound, followed by T cut and so far that is it. I will need to polish and wax it, but i might was well do that on the whole car. the T cut has polish in it anyway. But i'm quite pleased for a quick touch up. The Halfords rubbing compound I highly recommend. I dont have a orbital polisher, so just used elbow grease. And thats all it needed. It is coarser than T cut, but is very effective. I will use it on other scratches ect.

The door unfortunately is another issue. I did start to sand it this afternoon, but found the old lacquer is creating a lip which i cant seem to feather out. It is also starting to remove the paint too. So I fear it is a case of really sanding it back and repainting and re lacquering. A bit more involved than i would like, but once I have some paint, it should only take a weekend. At least it is only on the upper surface too. the rest of the door is fine.

I might do the LHM filters tomorrow. I have some petrol now so no excuse!

Can you come and do some for me! Luckilly the SD From what I remember here at home, has no Laquer issues at the moment, just the spotty paint on it. The Older H reg SED is starting to, but at the moment is mostly bad on removable parts..

I'm just sitting here playing with a new (to me) flavour of Linux (CentOS) and building a copy of the FCF on it as a learning experience to get me familiar with it...

Then I'm off to see Chris570 and play Citroens for the afternoon...
