Did a double take today....I saw a Matra Rancho :o ! , it was parked just round the corner from me. Sorry no pics, drove past it.

Can't remember the last time I saw one of those.

Saw a Twizy Tuesday. A brand new model Mondeo today....thought they weren't coming here till 2014.

The Xantia count has suddenly risen here too. Noticing more about.

One more tip, in order to pass the smoke test. It should pass but I just heard of some one failing the test. I took me a while to find out but the EGR makes things actually worse so you can disconnect (I didn't) And drive the car for some time before the test now trying to save diesel, I mean rev that engine for a good while, like by driving 60 mph in 3rd gear for some time. :)

My diesel had 0.480/m where 3.00/m is allowed.

Good tip Jaap....but I have no EGR to worry about.

I also have to drive down a duel carriageway to get to the MOT garage, so I'll blast it down there.
It isn't that smokey to my knowledge. No ploombs of smoke behind the car.

Just been checking some more things on it. One rear number plate light was out. Quick tap...now works!

I know this is nothing to do with the MOT, but wanted to check the boot light. It has never worked since getting it. Bulb I thought...but just had a look and the bulb LOOKS fine, so who knows! Will have to get a new one and try it out. I don't have a voltmeter thing to check power supply ect....shameful I know...must get one!

I tried to get some more resin into the windscreen chip. I don't think it has worked...it was a huge leap of faith it ever was going to, but you gotta try.

So much warmer today than yesterday. Sun is shinning. :P
Had to use the aircon too. :o !!!

The numberplate lamp will fail again as the filament has gone. The boot light will be the contact wire on the underside of the boot light switch flap.

They do check on numberplate lamps here, it's 'new' but it is a fail/advisory. I even saw my fog lights being checked, never saw that before, didn't even check them myself :) but that would have been a fail, something maybe you might check yourself as well. Is legal requirement now as well in IRL.....http://www.ncts.ie/NCT%20Manual%20Revis ... 202012.pdf

Might have some similar list Russ on the MOT

Only 46,9% of the cars here pass the first test. Main failure issues are front suspension, number one for 5 years on a row.

Of course it's raining here now but at least I got something done: the remote control on the SX now working again thanks to the donor! :)

Hey excellent result. Liz's SX is really coming together. I would call it a VSX now, especially with the cream leather.

Just been out to Halfrauds and got some new bulbs. Number plate bulbs now cleaned up and replaced. Working well.
All the lights now work, with the exception of the boot, drivers door puddle light, bonnet light and glovebox light.

Bonnet ...don't care.
Drivers door has just had a new bulb put in. Nothing however. So that is wiring. Probably door connections..or switch in the b post.

Boot, I am going to pop another bulb in to see if that works. If not, then wiring as Will has suggested.

glovebox...who knows

This is just a snag list though. Not worried about these in the immediate future.

Used the sunroof this afternoon!

So it really was 158 degrees in Cheltenham today then :D

Been a bit gorgeous here too. Got a useful bit of garden routine maintenance done before paying cars...

Well actually Jim, today there is no temperature here at all!
I did use the aircon this morning, actually the car decided it was appropriate....gotta love automatic climate control. I had previously adjusted that little vent under the steering wheel, and it blew a very chilly breeze downstairs! Had to switch it off!!!
