Spent the afternoon...well just now, cleaning the engine bay. Last year whilst it was in someone else's hands having its oil seal done, the top hose came off and well you can guess the mess!

Most of it had instantly dried to a fine powder, and the worst of it was cleaned up. Today I tried to finish it off getting into the nooks and crannies. Coolant does like to go everywhere! So it isn't by any means to Vinces standards, but it looks a little better. I can now open the bonnet without embarrassment!
Did some checks too. Topped up the oil a little. I'll be asking some people's opinions on my cambelt on Sunday. I was under the impression it was changed last year, but it doesn't look it. Anyway no doubt someone will tell me it needs doing!!!!

You went all the way to take off that Cover Russ? I suppose you mean the auxilary belt?It's hard to see when a belt has been done, but if it has been done last year it should still look like new I would think.

Exactly Jaap, but I , just for some reason, don't like the look of it. It just doesn't look new. Anyway you can see on Sunday if you wish!

On mine you can see both belts, but only part of the main cambelt....unless there are meant to be three of course and the cambelt is hidden away.

Hope you don't see any cracks!

All belts that I have ever changed, still looked good. Isn't your cambelt completey coveren? If not, there's a chance of it getting nice and dirty, surely that's the case !

Maybe its that then. No cracks from what I can see, but to me it doesn't look new.

Jaap your right, I'm being thick. It is the auxirally belt I'm on about. I was getting confused with the hydraulic pump belt being the aux belt. Dur. Having a right off day today!
