Selling off one (or bits

) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Guys, the centre knob of my heater control panel has snapped or something as it just spins freely.
Something has broken where the spindle goes into the rear assembly. Not sure how hard they are to replace but has anyone got one they want to move on? If so how much do you want for it
Thanks
Vince

Well Vince, I KNOW I havent, as mine on the grey SD was playing up and I looked high and low for one... But in the end I found it was the actual heater box with an issue, and the blower was the other one..
Isnt that the Direction controller??? Id not blame the panel, but the gubbins behind is connected to a control CABLE that attaches to a complex direction arrangement, on the right side of the heater box, If you remove the right side panel trim, and look up towards the top of the heater you will see the cable and its attachment.... Check its movment that end...

Ahh

Is this why you feel the dash has to be stripped to sort this one out Paul?
I think it makes sense now...

Have you fixed the heater box issue? I've just wasted all afternoon trying to get the flaps free-er and lubricating the cable.

No Will, Ive left it on Screen/Foot setting, its rather hard to free it up without getting the dash out I think...
How did you find it to do, or What did you do will?? I found it was NOT the cable, but the heater box control flap setup that was stiff..

Same on mine, it's the actual diverter flaps. It was OK last year so I guess it's the lay up and cold weather does it.
It's a full heater box out job as far as I can tell.

Yup, it is Will, I thought as much, Mines the same.. The issue is the Gear that moves the flap, its HOLLOW, so it allows it to jump teeth.
Luckily the XM dash is not hard to remove. Its all done inside the car...
