I managed to get the drivers side panels sorted too, all the haloing and light scratches are gone and it has wax on it to protect now, drivers door, front and rear wings, half the roof and all the infill panels. Was a right state! pictures in a little bit

Re: 1998 XM - 2.1td - 12 Months Ticket! Yay!
I tell you what, trying to claybar, cut, polish, and wax the paint is terribly hard with snow coming down! Oh well, with the failing light I have managed to get the passenger side rear window working in a fashion, OEM grease was very dry and sticky stopping the window sliding.

Gosh, you could use that as a shaving mirror

Carry on like that and you'll be good for best in show at CXM

What's the vehicle parked next to it? Looks like it's not moved recently judging by the discs...

It's my Celica GT4 WRC

Bit of a weapon, 300+bhp 4x4 with Cusco plate LSD in the back end, coilovers, and plenty of other little bits and bobs

Very lovely
A nice change from the ubiquitous Scoobie or Evo..
Great photos too. That looks very much like somewhere in Wales on a gloriously cold day!

Re: 1998 XM - 2.1td - 12 Months Ticket! Yay!
Bingo and bingo!
When you start looking into the specs, you have to wonder why the celica is considered the 'poor' relative of the evo. Better braking system, more advanced engine with better charge cooling, better drive line (gearbox capable of absorbing 600bhp!), much more advanced 'super strut' suspension system and all in a lovely coupe bodyshell, not a 5 door daddy wagon
And yes, we were near Bala, staying at a place called Llangynog, the pictures were over the Milltir Cerrig mountain pass
That car is such a weapon over B roads, I did a lot of ground work on the supension set up and specification to get it all bob on, worked too

That Celica is a lovely, lovely car! Just had a read through the Retro Rides thread and you've done some great work to it.
That's a proper spoiler too!
I thought my C4 spoiler was outlandish, but I think I've got spoiler envy...
 Pic link.

Loeb? 2.0 16v? Good engine in that, evolution of one of my previous cars the GTi-6
The rear wing on the GT4 is ace, and knocks 6mph off the top end, prevents it getting to 150 (tried on the runway at bruntingthorpe

Re: 1998 XM - 2.1td - 12 Months Ticket! Yay!
Yep, the By Loeb Edition, Number 1490!

Unfortunately not the 2.0 16v 180 engine... It's my second By Loeb and this is a 2010 facelifted car which had the option of the 1.6 VTi 120, 1.6 HDi, or 150 THP.
In pre-facelift form you could get a VTS 180 Loeb, but they only made around half a dozen so rare as hen's teeth. The 150 THP in the facelift cars are very rare too - hopefully I will find one in the future.
The VTi 120 is a nice engine though (16v) - a joint BMW/PSA venture. Much better than the 1.6 TU engine that I had in my 2007 C4 By Loeb.
Another pic - Link.
