Dont you sometimes wonder why xm's have such a terrible reputation for reliability? They dont seem any more unreliable than any other car of their age

That's right Vince but then most now are owned by people like us who do tend to care for them like babies and resolve small issues before they become showstoppers...

La Rochelle aquarium is quite special too, bit of a drive however. They are amazing places to visit.

I love how you think nothing of giving the XM a wash and wax in an evening Vince...It's taken me most of today to do the C5. And did it need it. Absolutely coated in grime, salt and Somerset mud. Not now!...mind you rain stopped play on the hoovering, so still got that to do.

What tyre silicone do you use Vince. One thing I am out of which really makes a difference to the tyres. The back ones on the C5 always seem to get cracked sidewalls very easily.
I hope Paul takes up your offer, love to see how you will turn his new SD around.

Ill check the battery clamps Will but i didnt see any problem with them last time i inspected them. I could also do with checking the service history to see when the battery was fitted.
If it has the lead clamps, you will do well to replace them. I was surprised at the difference in cranking speed.

What a great evening...... :)

After a good day at work i got home and thought i could do with a bit of rest and relaxation...what better way i figured than to take the xm out for a nice long drive around the city. I do love manchester at night, the cafe culture is in full evening swing and everything is lit up beautifully. Its nice to be able to drive the xm without actually having somewhere to go or ferrying someone somewhere....I can just enjoy driving it for the sake of it. It was great and im going to do it more often....taking drives i mean to wind down after a day in the branch ;)

I couldnt resist parking next to one of the new techno style glass office buildings and take a picture of the xm....

Yes very nice Vince and it reminds me of the evening shot in the coffee table book without the nightclub lights! It brings out the suave and ageless appeal of the car I think! Regards, Matthew T.

Yes! ....that's it Matthew. It is very similar.
You need to try another Vince, maybe with the lights on.

Good picture, Vince. I also find driving mine a good chance to chill. I'm going back down to Glos for a day or two next week, I shall be going in the XM and I am looking forward to it.
