I will tell you a funny story about calamine. A few years ago when my mother was alive she had something that she thought calamine would relieve, my wife said she would get some for her when she went to the shops, my mum said she already had some so use that up first, she found it and it was in a brown bottle with with ribs down it and a cork, there was a label on it with my name, it was what she had bought for me when I had chickenpox in the '50s :D it was still OK though.

I had meningitis when I was a kid, was touch and go for a bit but pulled through minus my hearing and common sense, hence my penchant for Citroens!

I thought this now meant that I'm immune to getting it again but apparently not, I'm due for a head operation soon and had to go and have a meningitis jab as there was a risk of contracting it post op.

Glad it was just the pox for you....now, I can't remember if I've already had that?? Especially since I'll be up in North Wales from Tuesday!

Awaiting an intolerable slow job on this PC, I notice you have an enormous amount of XM's. How does the road tax work in the UK? I heard from Robert it's easy just to tax a car for a month where as this is impossible in Ireland. Taxes going up and dreading the December budget here. Don't work too hard!

Taxing isn't an issue... Yes you can tax for a month, then cash it in.. But you have to buy either a 6 months disc, or a 12 month..

However EACH and every indiviual car needs its OWN insurance!!

So for example, the 24v Manual XM is on a classic policy.. I can tax that anytime. But if I wanted the SED 2.1 on the road, I could either swap the 24v insurance for the SED 2.1, OR I would have to take out another Insurance policy.

Insurance is a REAL BALL ache! I beleve, as you can only drive one bloody car at a time that "YOU as a person" should be insured to be on the road, NOT each car! But there we.. Robbing goverments and insurance companies!!

They offer multi car policies, but, I somehow cant work out how they work, or if its any cheaper...

So lucky on this side, I have a few cars that are not insured. That's fine as long as I don't drive them. However multi car insurance doesn't exist. Meaning if you have full no claims bonus, it will only apply to one car. For the next car that you would like to insure, you would start again with 0% bonus. Talking about robbing..

Thats the same as ours! The cars that are NOT insured NEED to have a SORN notice on them, else they NEED to be insured... Taxd or not..

I am insured with Swiftcover, its brilliant for temparory insurance, you can do it all on line and print out a certificate an about 10 minutes. It costs just over £16.00 to insure my 2.2 C5 for two days.
