Rats....the sunroof is still leaking  and worse than before :|

I like a challenge so I'll crack it. Man made the machine, not the other way round.

I find mine leaks a little now but only when driving fastish in torrential rain  It can rain as hard as it likes when the car is stationary and no leaks.

Most bizarre

The front drain holes are most certainly blocked. If the car is parked nose up, no leaks, nose down and it leaks like mad. The problem is i cant get at the front drain holes because the sunroof wont slide once its tilted because its buggered.

A slight snag.....

Thank whoever,....., I don't have had this yet :)

Know the feeling with my Xantia, just bought and having to drive VIP's on a very wet back seat. Because of blocked drains. But never happened since in 10 years to date! Did try everything to dry the bloody seat but....not easy :(

Vince, have you seen Kevs blog,
I got a bit of a drenching today and as Kev found the water is coming in underneath the glass where it is bonded onto the metal frame.

Need to invest in a seal and some silicone!

Well guys, i havent been very good have i on here  .....The truth is ive had a lot of stuff going on work wise and that is drawing to a close finally which means i get my mind back and perhaps rejoin society....and forums ;) I havent been on here in ageas, but wont bore you with the details as to why.

Anyway......

I decided to take the xm to work this morning and spend some quality time on it in a dry heated and well lit area :)

It was looking a little neglected as the cold weather outside really isnt the best to be out fettling in is it.

I fed all the plastics and widow seals etc and re undersealed the sill edges and jacking points which had the odd flaking bits etc. I undersealed the strut top mounts a while back and so did the remainder of the wheel arches this morning in readyness for winter salt etc. All the glass was done today inside and out and also the engine bay got rejuvinated again to looking fresh and tidy.

I spent some time on service citroen today gathering part numbers for the turbo boost pressure sensor which i need to replace and trying to figure out the oil guage level sender as the dash oil level display doesnt register the oil level. Im pretty sure i got the number, but if anyone can confirm it on here that would be great.

John xmexclusive brought me up some factory moulded xm mats the other week, these are in and were hoovered today as i am using them as everyday fit and not just for shows....they are so amazing the car looks like it has been re carpeted! Ive thanked John for these already, but they really have transformed the interior and lifted it to another level 8-)

One of my customers came in today with a rat look old vw golf....him and his mate. They were talking retro cars and engine bay clean ups etc. I said....hang on lads, let me show you something you wont see everyday. I took them out the back door and introduced them to the xm :) They were like "man thats amazing....how cool is that thing" I then popped the bonnet and after they had put their tongues in i asked them how many miles has this dirty diesel done to you reckon? They agreed on about 40K miles....to which i replied...try 210K miles! After the subsequent comments subsided we walked back into the branch and i said to them with a laugh "boys if your going to do retro, do it proper"! :P

Absolutley!

I would be interested in your oil level part number fault thing Vince, mine has given up the ghost too. Annoying as it was working a treat when i got it.

Hi Russ,

From what i could see on the citroen programme, it highlights an oil level probe which looks to have a top connector resembling an oil pressure switch. The picture however isnt clear. One of these guys will know what it is on here better than we.

Mine powers up so it flickers when you put the ignition on but it doesnt read full when it is full. :?:
