The chap wanted £300, I offered £50...we struck a deal...

It had quite a few problems, but was rust free and the strut tops were perfect. Live and learn.

The bad thing is....now I'd like another one! A TCT to keep my speed monster side happy.

What subliminal message? I didn't see one but why is my head full of another car with a TCT engine all of a sudden?

I guess if Rohan really wanted one he'd have to actively seek one out?

A manual series1 2.1 with Lucas pump is as quick as a 2.5 and parts are much easier to obtain.

I can't see a manual 2.1 being as fast as a 2.5. For me it
doesn't matter anyway as the 2.5 has the fab hydraulic
clutch and (when not worn! ;)) a lovely light
gearchange to match too.

The diesel Xm 2.5 that thinks it's a petrol 2.5 in it's
performance - they're superb where you want to enjoy
some more 'spirited' driving!
