My 2.5 failed MOT today on rust in decaying front chassis arms due to that sodding big cover that bolts underneath engine! It traps rain water and corrodes arms roughly where you put a trolley jack to raise car. Will be chopping mine into pieces tmrw and putting in bin!

Ha, no just the undertray. What on earth Citroen thought they were trying to achieve by fitting it I don't know, certainly doesn't suppress noise, just collects muck!

Sorry to hear that Marc :(

What's the prognosis on repair of the arms?

From what I've seen the undertray won't cause actual body corrosion, just subframe.

Well...she passed!! Hurrah!! No advisory's, N/S headlight aim high, but the tester let me fiddle with the bulb and passed it. The adjuster is AWOL though, so I'll wedge something behind the plastic cap. Glad she didn't disgrace herself. As a side note there was a 1960's willys jeep in for a MOT as well, not everyday you see one of those. A good day. :)

That is excellent news! 8-)

Mark, sorry if I'm confused here, are you the guy who was at the ICCCR in a white DS3 taking many very good photos/videos?

No, I was at the ICCCR, but I was in my BX 16 valve.

Thanks Jim. It's nice to have 12 months ticket in hand. Being a laid back kind of garage I was able to hang around the workshop whilst the MOT was carried out. Quite impressed by the one man operation and computerisation of it all. The equipment even informs the tester of the front wheel handbrake operation for the brake roller test.
