I now think I need to share an experience I had the other day. Although I find people more often than before stare at the [my] XM here, this experience surprised me.
On a Sunday I drove up to my favorite bakery, not knowing it closed on Sundays, a different day than before. In front of the shop a small group of young people had set up a sort of flea market, selling mostly used clothing and sundry items. When I pulled up a young woman I recognized as the owner of a Thai food kitchen in a converted garage next to the bakery named Baeckerei Ein, became all excited and shouted [roughly translated] "Wow, cool, so super". It took me a moment to realize she was not evaluating me, but the XM. But I, in my RayBan sunglasses was 'appreciated' too! "I've never seen a car like this, it's like one driven by Hollywood stars, you and your car, cool, unbelievably cool". I could only shake my head, showing proper manners in dismissing such praise, but of course I was pleased. Humming to myself I drove home with 2 portions of take-out Thai curry!
