Hopefully the show will get into swing a bit more over the next few days although IMO it feels a bit 'flat'

Second (and last day for me) of the show and today was much better - the attendance really is getting high now and some sight. Much more people there and I can only imagine what it'll be like in the remaining two days what with it being the weekend too. Back home from Yorkshire now and good to meet up with old friends and make new ones. Roll on CX, XM and Xantia Rally.
All pictures here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/icccr2012/ - and a few XM Specific ones below:
This car was fab. 60,000KMs, V6 12v Auto (Diravi) with a bizarre spec. A/C, no roof, no leather.
Hmm, I wonder who's 2.5TD that is...

Re: ICCCR Harrogate
I recognise that Anthracite SED there... apologies for the dents and pealing lacquer!
Some really great photos Franklin.
Some lovely cars present...quite taken with the red A reg BX. Mind you the white XM V6 I parked next to today was rather nice.
Did you like my handy work with the Museum banners?...don't need to answer that!

Thanks - must admit quality is down a bit as they've been uploaded straight from the camera and none have been tweaked through photoshop...
Ah, so you did the banners?! Very nice too, I was admiring them earlier. Stupidly don't think I took any pictures though.

Today was a little better...much better atmosphere, and I met Paul and Matthew too. I have good authority the show is a little like a duck. Calm and serene on top but madly tredding water! Thingss arn't happening like the parades. Off to see the fireworks tonight, will be amazing if they let them off at all.
The banners did come out well, the Xm one stuffed in the corner as usual.
I'm off

Re: ICCCR Harrogate
AND.....i'm back!
You missed a great display Franklin.
Back to the banners, I'm delighted at how they turned out, glad you liked them. The feed back about the museum has been very positive indeed. Spent a long time getting those right. Nothing of course to do with Nigel.
Overall though i think the Brits have done very well....even if the planned things aren't a happin'in.
Just missing out meeting other XM drivers.... being stuck behind my stall. You also managed to get that in one of your photos too. (The one with the framed pics)
All the best
Russ

The Sable coloured car is a 2.1 Sd owned by the Father of Christian Fouchard, of XM club France. The car was immaculate, which was really surprising since it has 291,000 Km under it's wheels. The strut tops were like new.Duke wrote:

As far as weird spec having air, no sunroof and velour seats, that is the best combination for any hot climate. Sunroofs are just a pain and pinch headroom, air conditioning keeps you cool and velour seats are much better than leather for comfort and for staying cool.
no country in Europe prefers leather over velour, apart from the UK, where we are leather snobs.

Re: ICCCR Harrogate
I skulked along to this yesterday and it is heaving with regular, altered, restored and prototype cars. It was good to meet up with the usual Guys, Paul, Alan, Robert, Matthew, Colin, Ray, Chris, Kev. Anyone else I've forgotten.
I only attended for the day and made reasonable progress in both directions, passing a few visitors on the way there and more on the way back. Passed that nice metallic brown GSpecial and C-Goo on the way back.
The prototypes are well worth viewing as you can't normally see them due to being in the Citroen private storage, "La Conservatoire"
One fun activity was driving the Dyane round an auto-test against the clock. Seems easy enough until you realise the steering is reversed, or was it Matthew made me turn left instead of right...
A few pictures.
A 2CV "Sahara". A genuine production car. How else would you do 4x4?
The only way to do 8 seats in style. CX Familiale
Prototypes:
CX..Project L
With flat 4 boxer engine.
V4 supercharged 2-stroke DS. Everyone loves DS.
Hmm... No gears..forwards..backwards.
Driverless car. Great for getting home drunk...but what about declaring the driver for speeding fines?
Original DS Decapitable, "La Croisette"
This chap is restoring one so was measuring up the stainless trim fit...with a 10 Euro note...
GS Birotor. A GS with a Wankel engine.
SM prototype. Tested in rallying and did well.
Note the composite wheels.
SM Opera. This is the original show car, of only eight made in total.
Gratuitous SM pics.
Something a bit different.
Ray's test car.
Note the big-6 engine. We have this on good authority that the big engine makes for rapid progress...especially with Chris behind the wheel.
And it's on hydraulics.

Re: ICCCR Harrogate
Here are some XM highlights of mine rather belatedly!! What a great event, the cars, the unique mix of enthusiasts from home and abroad and nice venue and weather too. I for one hope to make the next meeting in Holland!! Regards, Matthew T.
