Blackcomb was the codename for Vista when it was in Beta stage and before it was actually named Vista.
Either way, my advice to you, if you have a stable, working XP installation, is to leave well alone. Vista just isn't worth the hassle, I could go on for days about why, but I doubt everyone wants to hear the ins and outs of that, though its nothing a quick google search won't bring up droves of results on...

oh well, ill bin it then, i know my daughter had vista on her pc, she ended up buying an XP disc,

If you want something Vista esqe, but more reliable, wait on Windows 7. Its been worked on a lot and is actually more like what Vista should have been when it was released...
