Sadly it's time to go

Selling off one (or bits :o) of your XM collection, or perhaps searching for those elusive headlight washer covers? This is the place to do it.

Sadly it's time to go

After 7 years of faithful service, it's time to part company with by beloved green godess.

For those who don't know, she's a J reg 2.1TD estate with manual gearbox in the usual green of course. She has 6 months MOT but only taxed until the end of January.
I'm offering her on her for a few days otherwise I'll list her on ebay. :( I believe she is far too good to break but does have issues.
1, The Lucas fuel pump does have a small leak from the throttle spindle.
2, The roof lining has seperated and the lower skin is hanging down in the rear of the car.
3, The drivers door lock failed last year, but the key will still lock and unlock it.
4, Sunroof works but leaks a bit sometimes.

All the electric windows work, heater works but not on auto, bodywork is in incredible condition for it's age, all pipes seem to be good, new front tyres six months ago, new track rod ends six months ago, new ball joints at the same time. The strut tops have no signs of rust. The front spheres are OK but beginning to get a little bit firm, the rears are lovely and soft, the ride in general is good. it also had a new heater matrix 6 months ago.

I'm looking for £200 for her, and I'm certain she would travel anywhere. The engine ticks over all day, never gets hot and bothered, uses no oil or water and no pressure in the cooling system. It's currently showing 155k (I think)
Bob Haliday would have first call if he's interested as I offered him it first by PM but have not heard anything. If anyone wants it for spares that fine, but I certainly couldn't scrap it, it has been the best car I've ever owned!

Hi Ken

I might have been interested in it myself if I was still collecting them but sadly I'm not. Would certianly be a shame to scrap it as ones with decent bodies are getting rare now. I hope it goes to a good home

Wow, a car for less than scrap value!

Good luck with the sale Ken. If you were on this side of the water, I'd have that bought!

Yes indeed scrap is King at the moment. Some on on here is mad if they dont buy it.......Ebay is the next best option. I would set the reserve at scrap value which is way above your asking price. Coincidently.. Gypsies have stripped a B n Q of all the copper pipes then took it straight round the local metal recyclers...so thats how they pay for theses Big fat gypsy weddings.

The car is in Wakefield, but I think Bob Haliday is buying it, I did give him the first shout. I'll update when I know for sure. :)

Well, if it's gone to Bob Halliday then that's good news.
