A Bit Of An Unsual Place/Spot For An XM !

Post by XMX » Fri Nov 26, 2010 1:00 am

I doubt this belongs to any forum member, but its certainly is a spot whilst I was watching thro' some video's of a Wartburg Knight and Saab's 96 on You-Tube (1min 25sec's in) as they both have in common the use of a three cylinder 2-stoke engine with their unique sound and I was just wanting to compare them whilst I talking about them to my Cousins two young son's who both enjoyed watching and listening to the video clip's.

Enjoy (Click On Picture's to Watch) Spot the Xm (1min 25 Sec's in) !

Just listen to the Saab's 96, 2-Stroke Engine in the next two clip's :o

I love it. :D The smile that noise would put in your face, and the gasps of wonder when people hear you coming from a far.

Robert. You're too young to remember those infernal contraptions on the road in the UK, but they were here....

Richard. I've used the very same video before elsewhere and spotted the XM then.. ;)

The father of a school friend used to have a Knight. But being from Yorkshire we used to emphasise the Wart part of the name - WaaarTburg!

I think it was a rather nasty shade of yellow, a bit mustardy.

Lovely, these 2-stroke Saabs. I had an uncle who used to drive Saabs for many, many years.
I myself in the 1960s, on occasion drove DKW 3=6 and DKW Junior cars. They seemed very agile in those days and were fun to drive

You can clearly see the styling inherited from the Messerschmitt in that 1000.
