That XM is lovely and clean. You sould be very happy with it.

Tony Pond did a great job with that 800. 800s are thin on the ground now as well, I rarely ever see them.

My friend Colin Crookston had a Rover 416 a few years ago, it was very very very quick. I was amazed how well it went. It was much faster than his 2.0 Saab 93 that replaced it. The biggest grip I had with the 400 was that it was too narrow for my liking.

Yes Robert , they are just normal size i think, you must be used to proper sized cars though ;)

Well, I am built for comfort rather than speed :D :D

When I had the BX estate, I remember thinking that I didn't want a smaller car than it.

Dean wrote:Indeed Paul, we all like to poke fun at failed Rover, haha rusty Rovers and all that but to be fair they have done some stuff in their time, hydrogas for one and the Powertrain K16 Engine for another.
When i had my last 216 bubble my brother was ribbing me over it so we had a drag and my 216 Rover destroyed his Audi Coupe 2L twim cam  , he tends to keep rather tight lipped about Rover now.

Oh and parts are cheap and easy to find, very very cheap, and very , very easy to find ;)

The bigest issues with rover was the development budget of £3.50 to do the whole car... which resulted in customers doing a lot of testing with the early versions of every car they made. That's what happens when you have accounts running engineering

Citroen were also guilty of doing this....

Hi there Zaphod... bear in mind the XM has all-weather tyres (Nokian) which are very good and should prove useful this coming winter!
