Re: With Great Sadness
As already pointed out on (On the BXC Forum) by Phil/Citroenesque as the bidding ended with no takers !

As said /\ I too hope it's finds a good home, or maybe best just kept in storage until it's needed again ?Philip C wrote:I saw that. Shame as it's a lot for the money. Could do with pointing out the work done (including the cam belt), translating form the French paperwork.
It'd do better with a much, much lower starting price and a reserve of say £550. Also the 'negative' or less than perfect points (manifold blow/air con needs a regas) will worry some - the latter is a £50 fix if my similar XM is anything to go by.
Hope it does find a good home.

Re: With Great Sadness
Thanks for all your posts !
well im glad the old girl didn't sell after all,
, i will keep her now and get the manifold sorted out , iv'e heard it can be done ( if it only needs tightening up with the correct socket without all the hastle of romoving the engine ) is this true ????
i'm certainly not giving her away, she's far to good for that !!, il'l get the air con regased next weekend, so the old girl is truly going to stay in Eastbourne in semi retirement.
I am in need of the n/s guide rail arm for the sunroof wind deflector if anyone has one, as mine has snaped, iv'e got the roof shut , but the deflector is rattleing, but apart from that she's all good,
So will now hopefully see you all at Little Hoorwood in Sept

Re: With Great Sadness
Also guys, the Xm has developed a slight surgeing when travelling along at an even speed, on exheleration it's fine but when at speed ittends to surge a little, could this be the timing ??, i have changes the plugs and fitted a new set of Bosch ht leads, but it not made any differance
Any advice , and has anyone experienced this with there Xm
Cheers
Nigel

Good news that she's staying with you. I must confess to being baffled by the number of things that seem to be an issue with the car! Makes me feel a little guilty as she certainly didn't exhibit any real faults when I brought her back! My advice would be to get the car onto a Lexia/diagnostics machine asap. I had a fueling issue that was sorted in this way.

Not at all Phil, none of them are to bad, i expected a few things to raise there heads from time to time ,it's all part of running a 15 yr old Citroen, the manafold i will attemept myself agian, sunroof thingy not such a problem, need to get a rear n/s window motor, cables snapped, ( lack of use i guess , v ery rusty ), and this with it surging, i will get sorted, cannot be anything to bad, ! so feel no guilt at all, it's a great car and i love it !! it's in superb condition for it's year, i may even give up the company car bit later, and have the mileage paid for on this oneCitroenesque wrote:Good news that she's staying with you. Re: With Great Sadness
If this car has a Cat and Lambda sensor, the surging will be a result of air leaking into the exhaust manifold so causing the sensor to read a lean mixture. If it's not that have a look around for intake manifold air leaks. try spraying around all joints with plus gas or lighter fuel.

Re: With Great Sadness
I had this problem but make sure the arm is broken and not just missing the small retainer at the bottom end! It is not fixed to the roof, just held in place with a small 1/2" X 1/4"steel plate and a small screw, it took me about a year to find this out then I made the steel plates myself.harryjoe wrote:Thanks for all your posts !

Re: With Great Sadness
If you get the air con tested and regassed as I did, you won't need the sunroof. Just so long as it is nicely closed!
