Well I manged to get a new heater, turns out if you're using a xantia heater it has to be the air con version one otherwise it doesn't have the hcm fitted in it
Heats up lovely now!
New problem tho is I tried to start the car this morning and the started just clicked and gave out a puff of smoke so that's died on me now
Before I order a new one are they the same for all diesel engines models? Don't wanna order the wrong thing

You need to have a look at what starter is fitted at present, which I suspect will be a Valeo D9R 121 as the options have a different number of pinion teeth.
The options are Valeo, Bosch, or Mitsubishi.
The Valeo starters are very heavily built and it's surprising to hear of one burning out, so internal investigation would be my action plan.
See post on stripping a Valeo D9R down.

I'll have a look and see if I can see what model it is today, unfortunately I don't keep many of my tools at my place so might have to wait till to pull it out for another time
