You're right there John, some of the items you mention are just nasty but VERY 90's.

Re: XM 24V Series 1
Hi John,
I agree, some of them are truely dreadful! You wonder why Citroen even proposed such options on their flagship car! I have an 80's Citroen accessories borchure. They did some crazy sticker kits for the BX back then.
But this Green car looks to be in exceptional condition. Its a shame that it has the spoiler. But each to his own!

Re: XM 24V Series 1
Thanks for the opinions on the spoiler, to be honest I am very much like you all, I like cars as they come - standard! however as the spoiler was made by my mate and I never saw the car without it, I kind of got used to it, I wouldn't have put anything on it myself. It is only bolted on (self tapper screwed on) so can be easily removed.
andmcit - Not really thought about the aerodynamics, you could be right. With regards to noise, its has flapped a bit when going over a speed bump at silly speed LOL.
Would love to bring the car out here, but it costs a fortune to get the car here and also to put on Spanish plates, its just not worth it, however petrol at 77 cents a litre and diesel at 66 cents it would still be a cheap car to run over here. big problem is the air con doesn't work and its 26 degrees today and thats in the winter. Summer and those leather seats, ouch! We drive a SIAT cordoba out here, which fits in with most Canarian cars, bit of paint missing and faded, but its got great air con. We were going to fetch out my Citroen Xantia which also lives in the UK, but its just not worth the cost and hassle. Tenerife is great, but the UK still has its plus point.

Hi Andy,
you know that you can drive an EU car in any other EU country on its original plates, for 6 months every year (12 months), don't you? Only thing u'd have to arrange is the premium with your UK insurer.
Driving it just for the winter is just what u need -use the Seat for the summer!-.
cheers

Is the colour straight silver or the gunmetal/pewter grey?

Re: XM 24V Series 1
Hi Jorgy I would love to bring my car over to Tenerife, however as I am now officially a Spanish resident the 6 months allowance doesn't apply. If I was a UK resident living in Tenerife then I could, but after the 6 months the car would have to leave the island or I would have to get it matriculated i.e onto Spanish plates and all the hassle which comes at a cost of about 1000 euros. I could take my chances as there are UK plated cars over here which never seem to be matriculated however you are taking a big risk as the police don't mess about here and they could take your car off you....never to be seen again! To just get the car out here, its a very long drive, over 1800 miles from the UK, we are just an island in the middle of nowhere, its too costly. Winter here is like the UK summer, well hotter really and more reliable, top temperature last weekend was 30 degrees, so too hot for my XM with no aircon and leather trim. Cheers Andyjorgy wrote:Hi Andy,
