Left it the hell alone is what i should of done Will

The mayo has cleaned itself out, not just not forming again but the mayo has come off the cap and no more formed so i dont care what else happens, anything else is piddling about, even if the ECU is dead I couldn't care less.

Stuff it, im driving it to work tomorrow, tool kit is staying in the boot though ;)

Breakdown rescue number at the ready...
One downside of an auto...you can't use the starter to move the car in an emergency.

not got a breakdown policy, the 2.0 was so bulletproof I didn't see the point, I may have to rethink that decision.

I ran for several years without on the Merc E300, but took one out again. Only used it on the Merc in 2011 for brake fluid leakage fromcorroded pipe, on the way home from an operation... then for a duff battery on the Cobalt XM, then for recovering my Mandarin XM after the crash on 28th March this year.
I had changed to Autoaid this February and phoned them from the back of the Ambulance and left them to it. They arranged collection, came to hospital to recover the keys, and delivered it home.

Well I'm sat parked up in a farm track entrance awaiting a flat bed LOL
I have had an hour to poke it with the multi meter and have deduced despite what the fault codes say (same french fault + an O2 heater relay one) that the ignition module has committed suicide, local factors don't have one, tapping it produces varying voltage between 1-6v at the open ended coil plug, when the coil is plugged in there is no measurable voltage so I'm 75% sure its the module, tried swapping all the relays out with no change.

Oh well.

That is how failing IGN modules manifest themselves. Run fine for a while then either misfire and cut, or just cut out, let them cool and off they go again.

I guess you got about 3 miles.

Before condemning the module, just check the coil is wired up correctly and not reversed.

I know that you allready tried with relay swapping, but if i remember right,o2 sensor heater circuit should be powered by fuel pump relay or main injection relay.
Hope this helps:

That's a familiar sight I don't care to repeat in a hurry. Last time for me was a calipar bolt that decided to escape. Easy fix, just didn't have a spare in the car.

Oh dear, the warts are showing themselves....At least you Have a good idea what it is Dean.
