When Mr. Draper took me for a spin in his 2.0 I was very impressed, the XM isn't about pure power and speed, although I didn't find the 2.0 lacking at all.

And his is Auto too the same as mine was, they are a nice, in my Pre engine removal final drive youtube vid the camera is wedged between the seat and headrest and picks up every little vibration and noise and you can hardly tell its running at idle. No turbo's or any of that nonsense, it just works and is bullet proof. Robs is a lovely car, probably even better now he has finished it so it must be stunning.

The 2.0 I have been in have seemed rather nice. Was the negative views on it more to do with the non turbo unit?

I look forward to the video Dean. Very exciting!
Good to hear the cooler is sorted.

The only thing that bothers me about my 2.0i is the noise in the cabin at highway speeds....after 110km/h.
Up to 3krpm...it's ok,but after 3k rpm it becomes pretty noisy in the cabin comparing it with 5 or 6 cyl engines which are just whispering in high rpms.It is a shame for a car's class like XM is.
That's the only reason why i would like a V6.

About it's power....like it is allready said....it's not a race car but it is not underpowered neither.
With it's 130hp it can pull when it is needed.

All seams well after 2hrs at 10psi, no drop in pressure after much pipe wiggling so i put it back together for (fingers crossed) the last time and then sat down with a cuppa to admire my handy work.

bodging some old exhaust together didn't work, I thought I had a temporary solution but the sizes just don't match up to clamp up to the rest of it so I'm waiting for the real thing to turn up now unfortunately, this was a waste of time really.

Thank you Paul and Misha, 218 days since I unloaded the donor engine from my truck, the exhaust should be here on Friday now so it will be 221 days in total, ish.
It's a fair old while still but it does seem to have flown by, the wife tells me it's dragged  .
