I loved it...so many cars that are in everyday use, that just aren't about here anymore. Loads of
Saab 900 turbos for example. There was a DS almost down every street! Brilliant!
Got going on my sunroof today. Easy to get out, took a little while to gently prise off the glass from the frame.
What I found was rust and water, unsurprisingly, but no holes apart from the one I have plugged. It seems the sealant failed in all the corners and was going up the sides. The front and back was very much still bonded and refused to give up! It has been tricky getting the old sealant off infact. I won't go mad with pics, as Will has already done this process, and I'm following his method!
Some pics of my sunroof frame before treatment.
Rust converter doing its thing.
I reckon every XM sunroof that lives outside will be doing something like this now. It's certainly something to prepare for!
