I'm in the unusual position where I have one XM and two spare engines, albeit one has a blown head gasket. It was a rescue mission, if it wasn't saved, it was going to scrap.

All I need now is a bare shell and I can build up my own XM!

Ahh ok... Very good! I think I recently acquired another 2.1 engine. You can never have too many!!

Russ... I've never seen your car... What page are the pictures on?

I'll post one here. I need to clean it up and do some more pics.
Here's an old one from the summer.

My first one now in its component parts. The engine from this is now in the mandarin one.

And the mandarin one.. Or known as trouble!

Oh wow love the mandarin one. Why did you break the cobalt one?

He didn't. It got rather broken on the M6 on the way to the national Rally in 2014. An XM sandwitch that didn't end well.

Yeah... Wasn't pleasant. Just spent £650 having the Bosch pump rebuilt too..., then two weeks later found myself in the middle of a 5 car pile up. :x Then last year had the blown head gasket. So I'm very glad the national has changed venues, albeit it's still in that neck of the woods.

The grey one isn't cobalt. It's anthracite, or silicone grey what ever it's called. Seems to be a rare colour. Rarer now!

Six hundred and fifty pounds to rebuild the pump? That brought a tear to my eye! Sorry to hear about the accident, hope everyone involved were ok.

Yeah, bit of a hard pill to swallow. That's why I was a man possessed to get the engine out of it to save it.
It's £250 to reseal with new seals. The rest was labour getting the pump on and off. If you can do that then you save a bunch. But they did time it all and tune it correctly. Car ran like a dream after that...for all two weeks! Enjoying it again now though..

I think everyone was fine. I had bit of whiplash and a bruise, emotional scarring... The usual!
