I drove from Scotland to Northhampton today, and didn't see one single XM
Where are you all hiding?

Well, I've to drive down to Kent tomorrow or Tuesday (If I can get my bloody 5th gear fixed - long story), so we'll see if there are any more in evidence in the south

An unknown one has just appeared at the top of my road! a MK2 green vsx hatch, with a bit of rear end sink, never seen it on the island before, seems to get a lot of use!

The last twice we have been from the south coast to the very north of Scotland and back, we havn't seen one. A red one has twice been sighted in Axminster by my son though.

Today I spotted three XM's on a travel to the shops.
I waved to all of them but I don't think that any of the people in the other XM's were as proud to own one as me...

Definitely getting thinner on the ground as sightings, along with BXs, which also seem to have disappeared. Have been noticing lately that Peugeot must have actually shifted a few 607s over time, as they are definitely about.
My prize for the fastest appearing new car on the road, directly at the opposite end of the scale from the C6, has to be the Vauxhall Insignia -- whatever the car is like, their marketing people must have done a cracking job.

Have you noticed how many 405s there are about, some in really brilliant condition and even the very early ones still look good, produced around the same time as the XMs and obviously of the same sort of quality. They must have sold thousands, I reckon they give the best value for money available today - apart from the uncomfortable seats in the late ones - if only they had hydropnumatic suspension ...

Hi Peter.
Must be a regional thing ---- haven't seen a 405 around here in as long as I can remember. Always thought the estate was a practical looking piece of kit. Mind, I reckon the 406 was their high water mark -- don't think the 407 is anything like as big a seller -- and the so called estate is a joke. I think the presence or otherwise of an active dealership has a significant effect on vehicle representation in an area. Have just been oop North to the Dales and higher and it's pretty obvious the local Jap pick up seller has been busy taking trade from Land Rover; elsewhere Land Rover still clearly have the market. When XMs were more commonplace, it was very noticeable around the auctions that someone in the Leeds area must have been a lot busier than the dealers down here.
