Not likely Dean, the nearest it gets to Milton Keynes is the occasional mention of it on a signpost. There is nothing interesting in the slightest in driving around Milton Keynes. Once you've seen one roundabout you've really seen them all...

They produce a calendar here featuring a different roundabout for each month

Maybe they should add the concrete cows too.

We are not used to a route plan for the convoy, which is why it got fragmented last year.

That's the Convoy Drive now written up in its first draft ready for a road test by Robyn tomorrow evening and no doubt lots of corrections. I must make certain all my lefts and rights are right and the signs say what I believe they say...

I've changed it slightly after some valuable feedback on here by offering a slightly shortened outward leg to the destination and a slightly longer short inward leg back to Little Horwood.

I've even got a couple of miles of fast dual-carriageway into the convoy route...

The route guide also includes some words on some points of interest you'll pass along the way. Possibly the points of interest will be unique to this guide and described nowhere else...

Ahh well, that explains everything

It's rather sad that Milton Keynes is best known for it's roundabouts and Concrete Cows :( It's not a bad place really if truth be told, just a bit uninteresting for a visit, barring Bletchley Park perhaps. I hate going there; it's like going to work 30 years ago for me  Makes you feel old when a museum has stuff in it you used to maintain and keep working...

Here in Newport we do have a bit of proud heritage: Aston Martin, Taylor's Mustard, the oldest working iron bridge in the world and the last and only parchment works in the UK. Although we border Milton Keynes, we are most decidedly not part of Milton Keynes!

Robyn, Sian and I drove the proposed convoy drive route again in the week with Robyn navigating and taking notes to correct and make clearer my navigation instructions... She also suggested so other ideas to enhance things that have now been incorporated...

Sian was bored and curled up on the back sleep fast asleep for the whole drive. She only showed signs of life when we stopped in Buckingham and visited an excellent Italian Restaurant for a bite to eat... She says the Activa makes a fine bed...

Franklin, as soon as I've re-typed the route I'll email it to you...

Robyn and Sian are my daughters; Robyn's 19 and Sian just a baby of 16 (years)..

Oh and Robyn says she may well visit the rally, that's if she's allowed in driving her Pug 206....

...well we got in with a Talbot last year, and we might also be bringing another Talbot or a Peugeot this year. Time will tell and whatever it is, it should have a Fiamma F45+! :D

Bit of deja vu, that.

Done it :D

Franklin, I've emailed you the latest Convoy Drive route. Did I tell you it's now going to Scotland and back with a car transporter in the middle of it?

Most, if not all of the revisions are thanks to Robyn ;)
