Hi, trawling ebay and spotted this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-PEUGEOT-605- ... 1e5f284cad
Of course it would be an ideal donor for an XM transplant - make a change wouldn`t it.

Nice. 605s are very rare too. Anyone know how many 605s were made?

Nooooooooo....!!!!!
I know u r jocking but....Nooooooooo
The 605 is a very good car -very accomplished- that deserves all the respect. And there must be only a few 24v in the UK! If I didn't have already 2 XMs, I'd buy this and give it all the love it deserves.
I remember that in comparative period road tests it was usually preferred to the XM for being more on the sporty side of handling. Excellent handling, no matter in what magazine/year/country(!) was the test done.
BTW this (the 24v) has electronically controlled shock absorbers. Don't know if it's 2 stages or a more progressive function. But in a document I have, the sensors it uses look like identical to the ones the XM uses (which would make sense)!
This, the XM 24v, and the Thema 8.32, are the 80s-to-90s executive saloons I'd like to savour for a while, or for more...
cheers
G

I very nearly went for a 605 after the 405 but went the Xantia route instead. Funnily enough there's both a 605 and a XM in the car park at work.
There's a YouTube of a Top Gear test of the 605 -

I cannot see any reference to it's mileage - have you been in touch John?
Wonder if it has the same cats set up as my Xm as I could do with better ones
and like the idea of another engine...

If I'm not mistaken I think the 605's came from the factory with stainless steel exhausts.
I think Paul told me it's on around 177k miles.
David.

Did you secure it then Andrew ?
As I thought you were trying to thin out your collection of PSA vehicles !
The Pug only achieved
£275 yet the rusty Alfa by the same seller listed, got to
£665 BUT the reserve was not met so I wonder what they hoped to get for that piece of rusty shite
.
