Pilot a hole up from underneath and use a stainless screw to retain the inboard end of the light unit, job done and you cant see it, those plastic clips always deform.

I have two (don't ask!) brand new OS fog light/indicator units. Trouble is that while they were advertised as being for Y3 cars they have a different lens to the ones fitted to my early car. I am pretty certain I can unclip the lenses to put the new rear bit onto my original style lens.
Anyone who needs a replacement holder with a new plastic clip let me know otherwise one will be going out to EBay.
