For Sale - 2000 XM V6 Exclusive - 56k miles

After 16 1/2 years I feel the time has come to look for a new home for my XM.
The car is a 2000 V6 Exclusive in Quartz Silver with a black leather interior.
The RP number of the car is 8600 which indicates that it was built on 26th May 2000. It was then registered as W626 RMN on 28th June 2000 by Luton Citroen Centre and collected shortly after that by it's first owner with 20 miles on the clock.
When the car had covered 1058 miles the number plate was changed to V6 XME (V6 XM Exclusive).
In August 2000 the car covered 6000 miles on a Scandinavian road trip with the original owner before returning to the UK and winning the Concours d’elegance, at Citroen Club Midlands Rally at Stratford-upon-Avon Racecourse having covered 7605 miles.
Whilst the car was in the UK it was kept in a heated garage and the original owner used a diesel XM he owned whenever the weather was anything other then dry.
When the car was 4 years old and showing 22,291 miles it was shipped in a container from the UK to Malaysia when the original owner emigrated. Whilst in Malaysia the car was kept in an air conditioned, dehumidified garage and was used as a 2nd car alongside their Toyota Prius.
In 2010 when the car had covered 49,820 I purchased the car from it's only keeper in Malaysia and had it transported back to the UK.
It left Melaka in Malaysia on a lorry on 4th April 2010 and was transported to Port Klang in Kuala Lumpur. It was then loaded into a 20 foot container and securely tied down for it's voyage. It was craned onto a smaller ship called "Buxlink" and was transported from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. It was then taken from Singapore to Antwerp in Belgium on MSC Alexandra, after a 24hr layover in Antwerp it was then put onto it's final ship called "Harmony" and it was taken to Grangemouth where it arrived on Thursday 20th May 2010.
After I'd paid the port for unloading the container and customs for clearing the container I was then able to go and open the container myself and see the XM for the first time.
Upon opening the container and manipulating myself into the drivers seat the XM started instantly, the suspension rose up and the car drove out of the container and down the ramps. It was then loaded onto our trailer and taken home.
After the car arrived in the UK it has been kept inside at our house. It's never seen salt or bad weather and has only once or twice seen rain when on the way home from Citroen Car Club events.
The car has now covered a total of 56,000 miles. This car has never done short trips and has only come out when going on a long run to Citroen Car Club events.
In 2015 I took the XM to RAF Cosford to celebrate 25 years of the XM. It was driven and reviewed by Ian Seabrook and the video posted on YouTube.
In 2019 the car had a full stainless steel exhaust fabricated to match the specification of the original Citroen part by PD Gough in Nottingham.
In 2024 all of the spheres were recharged, all 4 tyres were replaced with Avon ZX7's in the correct size and speed rating and the car was given a full service. After this work was completed Ally Getty and I drove from Glasgow to Anglesey and back again to attend Paul's funeral in the XM. The car covered the miles without missing a beat. It even returned just over 30mpg on the motorway which for a big petrol engine couple to an auto box is fantastic.
I will be sorry to see this car go as I love looking at it. Unfortunately, I just don't get the time to use it and whilst we have a little one I can't see that changing any time soon.
Prior to being advertised properly, the car will have a new timing belt (last changed 7000 miles ago but in 2010), a fresh MOT and the air conditioning will be recharged.
My asking price for this car is £10,995.
This isn't your normal XM, this car has never seen salt, there is zero corrosion anywhere on the car, it has never had any welding and you can still read the part numbers off the paper labels on the hydraulic pipes underneath it. I would go as far as saying this must be the best, totally original XM in the UK. I am more then happy to provide photographs or any area of the car or am happy to allow any interested party the opportunity to look underneath this car on a ramp.
If you are interested in the car then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks,
David.
