Well it was a close call! After an MOT fail I needed to get her back in.. so managed an early finish in work today, only to hear the garage couldnt get me in till 5.30pm.. DRAT Post Office's close then..
Anyway, before I could go, I had an issue with yet still a squeeky slipping HP pump belt! So I had to tackle that... however, the pump was on Maximum adjustable length on the bolt...
Belt Length was IIRC 674mm length. But I had no shorter belt. So a quick rummage in the shed revealed a couple of pumps with a Larger Diameter pully.. Yes.. that will do it..
So exsisting pump off which worked well and gave me GOOD PAS and hydraulics behaviour.
Fitted the other pump and what a bloody faff!! Things wernt going right, needed to find some bits for people.. any way managed to get it on and tightened it up, and still had some threads left YAAY.. so that done, grabbed some bits and off to the garage!
Im throughly pleased to say she PURRREED to the garage 15 miles away..
Parking brake now reading 180 on both sides HAPPY Days!
Ok, she did 1k in 2011 last time she was on the road, so in 3 years, shes had all this blog done, rear end welding, rear spheres, nearside hand brake cable oh and a spark plug!
Not bad for a 24 year old car that sadly lives outside...
